Dr. James Wilson

James is Coordinator for the ‘PBL for Impact’ programme at Chinese International School in Hong Kong, a programme that builds PBL into the school culture and practices through coaching and in-house workshops.  James values a bespoke coaching approach, which understands that every team embodies a unique set of experiences and beliefs about learning. He has presented at regional conferences on how a portfolio approach to assessments can enhance student agency in the PBL context.

James' dedication to PBL can be summarised by a quote from Kurt Hahn, German educator and founder of both the United World College Movement and Outward Bound, who once expressed how "There is more in us than we know. If we can be made to see it, perhaps for the rest of our lives we will settle for nothing else." James' inspiration is regularly renewed by being a part of learning communities in which students are engaging in authentic experiences that connect to their strengths and interests, by seeing potential unlocked to become even more of who they truly are. 

James received an Ed.D in Information Technology from The University of Hong Kong. Using Artificial Intelligence to enhance engagement and personalised learning in the PBL classroom is something James tinkers with regularly.
